Expectations

- In order to progress in class every week it is expected that students practice on their own outside of class. This is essential for students to remember steps and perfect corrections.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes early to each class to allow time to put on shoes and begin warming up.
- Proper dance attire of a leotard, tight fitting shorts with knee high socks, and highland dance shoes are expected at every class.
- Hair must be pulled away from the face, and secured in a way that will not be distracting during class.
- No food is allowed in the studio, but a water bottle is suggested. We have a lot of fun, but we also work really hard!
- Parents are encouraged to attend classes and practice with their children so that they may help them to perfect their dancing technique.
- Practice cards will be given out at every week at class. Cards are to be filled out completely, signed by the dancer and parent, and returned at every lesson.
- Pay attention in class and be respectful of the teacher and other dancers. When not receiving direct instruction students should be practicing on their own or with their parents.
- Call or e-mail Emily if a student plans to be absent or tardy.
